While a large central government may have good intentions, the results it produces are lamentable. Show 296 Interview with Alison Armstrong with Chip at personal life media
Ever feel like you just don't understand the other gender? Ever wonder why relationships between men and women so often start out like a fairy tale and end up like a horror story? Join Chip and his guest Alison Armstrong and learn more about what gets in the way of having the relationships we so deeply desire. Alison Armstrong, author of "Keys to the Kingdom", and creator of the "Celebrating Men, Satisfying Women" workshops describes her own amazing journey from being a "frog-farmer"-a woman who turns princes into frogs- to becoming a world renowned expert on understanding the conflicts and ending the separation between men and women. Listen in as Chip and Alison talk about the conflicting desires and expectations that men and women bring into relationships and learn how to develop meaningful alternatives that actually enhance our relationships.
Why does ACU post shows on man/woman relations? Our mission is to dispel widely held misconceptions and erroneously held beliefs. This extends to interpersonal relationships that liberal ideology has poisoned through radical feminism, promotion of the silly idea of the sameness of the sexes, and general narcissistic values (among other things).

Show 295 F.I.R.E on Campus. Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. Audio version of 3 short documentaries. Audio MP3. 49 minutes 11MB
This video, directed and produced by "Indoctrinate U" director Evan Coyne Maloney and Andrew Marcus, serves as an introduction ... to FIRE, its principles and issues, and its commitment to liberty on campus. It then turns to FIRE's case at San Francisco State University, where students endured a months-long investigation for stomping on Hamas and Hezbollah flags during an anti-terrorism protest.
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v6413781AbgPJtzQ
This short film highlights FIRE's fight against Valdosta State University's (VSU's) unconstitutional free speech zone policy and chronicles FIRE's ... victory on behalf of VSU student T. Hayden Barnes, who was expelled for engaging in a peaceful protest. Featuring on-the-scene interviews with Barnes; his attorney, noted First Amendment lawyer Robert Corn-Revere; and FIRE President Greg Lukianoff, this video illustrates the impact of FIRE's work and explains why VSU remains a priority in FIRE's fight for student rights on campus.
This episode of the PBS "Voices of Vision" television series documents FIRE's efforts to defend fundamental rights at the ... University of North Carolina - Greensboro, where students faced discipline for protesting an unconstitutional "free speech zone," and at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, which had banned RAs from leading voluntary Bible studies in their own dorm rooms and on their own time. The film also features an in-depth look at how FIRE selects and conducts its defense of individual rights on campus, including a nuts-and-bolts look at FIRE's operations.

Show 294 Dennis Prager talks to Dinesh D'Souza, former White House domestic policy analyst, and best-selling author. His latest book is What's So Great about Christianity. It's now out in paperback
Is Christianity true? Can an intelligent, college-educated person really believe the Bible? Or do the atheists have it right? Has Christianity been disproven by science, debunked as a force for good, and discredited as a guide to morality?
Bestselling author Dinesh D"Souza (What's So Great About America) approaches Christianity with a skeptical eye, but treats the skeptics with equal skepticism. The result is a book that will challenge the assumptions of both believers and doubters and affirm that there really is, indeed, something great about Christianity.
D"Souza reveals:
Why Christianity explains the universe, and our origins, better than atheism does
Why Christianity and science are not irreconcilable, but science and atheism might be
Why the alleged sins of Christianity—the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Galileo affair—are vastly overblown
Why atheism is a demonstrably dangerous creed—and a cowardly one
Why evolution does not threaten Christian belief
Why atheists fear the Big Bang theory
Why Christianity is the ultimate defense of man's free will
Why ultimately you can"t have Western civilization—and all we value from it—without the Christianity that gave it birth
Provocative, enlightening, a twenty-first-century successor to C. S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity, Dinesh D’Souza’s What’s So Great About Christianity is the perfect book for the seeker, the skeptic, and the believer who wants to defend his faith.

Show 291 Hugh Hewitt interviews his fellow Salem Radio Broadcaster Michael Medved, author of the brand new book The 10 Big Lies About America. Combating Destructive Distortions About Our Nation. 34 minutes 8MB
About this Book -
"It ain't so much the things we don"t know that get us into trouble,nineteenth-century humorist Josh Billings remarked. "It's the things we know that just ain"t so.”
In this bold and brilliantly argued book, acclaimed author and talk-radio host Michael Medved zeroes in on ten of the biggest fallacies that millions of Americans believe about our country—in spite of incontrovertible facts to the contrary. In The 10 Big Lies About America, Medved pinpoints the most pernicious pieces of America-bashing disinformation that pollute current debates about the economy, race, religion in politics, the Iraq war, and other contentious issues.
The myths that Medved deftly debunks include:
Myth: The United States is uniquely guilty for the crime of slavery and based its wealth on stolen African labor.
Fact: The colonies that became the United States accounted for, at most, 3 percent of the abominable international slave trade; the persistence of slavery in America slowed economic progress; and the U.S. deserves unique credit for ending slavery.
Myth: The alarming rise of big business hurts the United States and oppresses its people.
Fact: Corporations played an indispensable role in building America, and corporate growth has brought progress that benefits all with cheaper goods and better jobs.
Myth: The Founders intended a secular, not Christian, nation.
Fact: Even after ratifying the Constitution, fully half the state governments endorsed specific Christian denominations. And just a day after approving the First Amendment, forbidding the establishment of religion, Congress called for a national "day of public thanksgiving and prayer” to acknowledge “the many signal favors of Almighty God.”
Myth: A war on the middle class means less comfort and opportunity for the average American.
Fact: Familiar campaign rhetoric about the victimized middle class ignores the overwhelming statistical evidence that the standard of living keeps rising for every segment of the population, as well as the real-life experience of tens of millions of middle-class Americans.
Each of the ten lies—widely believed among elites and taught as truth in universities and public schools—is a grotesque, propagandistic distortion of the historical record. For everyone who is tired of hearing America denigrated by people who don't know what they"re talking about, The 10 Big Lies About America supplies the ammunition necessary to fire back the next time somebody tries to recycle these baseless beliefs. Medved’s witty, well-documented rebuttal is a refreshing reminder that as Americans we should feel blessed, not burdened, by our heritage.
About this Author-
MICHAEL MEDVED is the host of one of the most popular talk-radio programs in the country, reaching more than four million loyal listeners. He is the bestselling author of ten other books, including Right Turns, Hollywood vs. America, and What Really Happened to the Class of ’65? A member of USA Today’s board of contributors, he also writes a weekly column for Townhall.com. For more than a decade he served as cohost of Sneak Previews, PBS’s weekly movie-review show. Show 290 Daniel J. Flynn is the author of Intellectual Morons: How Ideology Makes Smart People Fall for Stupid Ideas (Crown Forum, 2004) and Why the Left Hates America: Exposing the Lies That Have Obscured Our Nation's Greatness (Prima Forum, 2002). His most recent book, "A Conservative History of the American Left" has garnered praiseworthy reviews from surprisingly critiques on both sides of the ideological divide.
A frequent campus speaker, Flynn has faced-off with book-burners, mobs shouting down his talks, and fanatical officials banning his lectures. From 1994-1997, he served as a program officer for Young America's Foundation, from 1997-2003 as executive director of Accuracy in Academia, and from 2004-2005 as director of the Campus Leadership Program at the Leadership Institute.
