Brooks discusses charity at the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC.  A charity divide runs through  America: three-quarters of Americans contribute their time and money to various causes, while the rest of the population does not, according to Arthur C. Brooks, a leading scholar on economics and public policy. Brooks' research identifies the factors driving American charity, including strong families, church attendance, and the belief that social ills are best addressed by individuals rather than government. If it is, why not endorse polygamy? The other argument the Los Angeles Times makes is that banning same sex marriage is like banning interracial marriage. It"s a silly argument. There are no differences between the races except skin color. But there are major differences between men and women. But this doesn't matter. Berlinski does not dismiss the achievements of western science. The great physical theories, he observes, are among the treasures of the human race. But they do nothing to answer the questions that religion asks, and they fail to offer a coherent description of the cosmos or the methods by which it might be investigated.

* Those who are "very liberal” are 3 times more likely than conservatives to throw things when they get angry.

The American left prides itself on being superior to conservatives: more generous, less materialistic, more tolerant, more intellectual, and more selfless. For years scholars have constructed—and the media has pushed—elaborate theories designed to demonstrate that conservatives suffer from a host of personality defects and character flaws. According to these supposedly unbiased studies, conservatives are mean-spirited, greedy, selfish malcontents with authoritarian tendencies.
