Show142  Prude.  Hugh discusses what the culture is doing to the young girls of America with the author of the new book, Prude, Carol Platt Liebau.

Prude is an in-depth look at the forces telling young women that being sexy trumps intelligence and character every time. For those who aren't aware of just how sexualized teen-oriented fashion, reading, movies, television and music have become and why, it's a wake-up call. For parents who want their daughters to understand the physical, emotional and psychological dangers of giving too much, too soon, it puts all the facts at their fingertips. And for anyone who cares about the impact that teen sexuality has on America's economic and social life -- and believes it's time for a more wholesome teen culture -- it's a call to arms.

"I am going to make PRUDE required reading for all my listeners!"-- Dr. Laura Schlessinger, bestselling author

" If you are a mom or a dad, a grandmother or a grandfather, an aunt or an uncle, or a big sister or a big brother of a young girl about to enter or already in her teen years, you need to buy this book . . . This is the rarest of books -- one that could save a life. Liebau is surveying a culture that tells girls and teenage women to do everything they can to defeat themselves, to sell themselves short, to think of themselves first and sometimes only as sexual beings . . . With compelling specificity, Liebau lays out exactly how parents and all the other adults in the U.S. can take real-world steps to change the world that now works to limit girls . . . Read it. Pass it on. The life you save may be the one closest to you."-- Hugh Hewitt,
nationally syndicated radio talk show host and author

Show 141  P.J. ORourke on the – On the Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. Learn the bedrock principles of free-market economics while you laugh. You read that right. And only P.J. O’Rourke could make it possible On The Wealth of Nations

Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations might well be the most influential work of economics ever written, but it’s never been considered a laugh-riot. That could change, however, with this explication of Smith’s free-market masterpiece by conservative commentator and humorist P.J. O’Rourke. In On The Wealth of Nations, O’Rourke manages to accomplish a fourfold task that no one would have thought possible: (1) to explain all of Smith’s ideas - from the simple to the complex - clearly and concisely; (2) to show how those principles can help us understand - and solve - today’s economic social problems; (3) to use Smith’s evergreen wisdom as the jumping-off point for O’Rourke’s own biting social commentary; and (4) to keep you in stitches from beginning to end. Purchase Audio book or audio download for as low as $10.45 at Amazon P.J. ORourke On the Wealth of Nations. Highly recommended. Podcast rating 6 out of 10. 15MB and 68 minutes long.

Show 139  Dennis talks to Bjorn Lomborg, adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School . His new book is Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Global Warming.

Former vice president Al Gore … excuse us, Oscar-winning documentarian, Nobel laureate, and shamelessly hypocritical mansion-dwelling, jet-setting energy pig Al Gore … says global warming is nothing short of a "planetary emergency" demanding elaborate and expensive actions that will cost hundreds of billions of dollars. But is the hysteria surrounding global warming rational? And would the solutions he has in mind make things better for mankind -- or worse? Now, in Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalists Guide to Global Warming, noted environmental expert Bjorn Lomborg draws on extensive studies and analysis -- including the UN's most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report -- to debunk numerous popular myths that are causing people to panic (and Al Gore to win prizes).

Lomborg -- previously the author of the bestselling The Skeptical Environmentalist, and named one of Time magazines 100 most influential people in 2004 -- does believe that global warming is occurring, but not to the degree, or at the pace, that alarmists like Al Gore would have us believe. Nor are the consequences all bad -- in fact, some are, and will be, very good, not only for our species but for others. The key, he believes, is to assess the facts and approach whatever problems need to be addressed in a rational way -- which means not wasting all our energy and resources on Chicken Little hysteria when there are more pressing problems facing the world.

Cool It gives you the facts and documentation behind hundreds of "politically incorrect" revelations like these:

Sea levels will rise about one foot over the next century, according to the UNs 2007 IPCC report -- the same rise that has occurred worldwide since 1860. A 20-foot rise, such as the one seen in An Inconvenient Truth, is hypothetical at best

Global polar bear populations, contrary to environmentalists claims, are generally stable, and two populations around the Arctic Sea are actually growing. The most substantial drops in polar bear populations are a result of recreational hunting, not global warming

The recent increase in impact from hurricanes and storms has nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with the rising concentrations of population and infrastructure in coastal areas. The data available today does not support unequivocal claims that global warming is worsening storms

Though such global warming as may actually occur will mean more heat-related deaths -- about 40,000 more in the United States in 2050 -- there will also be 200,000 fewer cold deaths by then in the US.

The Kyoto Protocol is both impossibly ambitious and environmentally inconsequential. It would cost $180 billion a year for the rest of the century but would only postpone global warming by five years in 2100.

Show 137 If Democrats Had Any Brains, Theyd Be Republicans by Ann Coulter audio excerpt . Audio MP3. Yes it’s an offensive title but there is a story behind it. Give it a try. It is full of her funniest lines.

-Uttering lines that send liberals into paroxysms of rage, otherwise known as ‘citing facts,’ is the spice of life. When I see the hot spittle flying from their mouths and the veins bulging and pulsing above their eyes, well, that’s when I feel truly alive.-
So begins If Democrats Had Any Brains, Theyd Be Republicans, Ann Coulters funniest, most devastating, and, yes, most outrageous book to date.
Coulter has become the brightest star in the conservative firmament thanks to her razor-sharp reasoning and biting wit. Of course, practically any time she opens her mouth, liberal elites denounce Ann, insisting that -She’s gone too far!- and hopefully predicting that this time it will bring a crashing end to her career.
Now you can read all the quotes that have so outraged her enemies and so delighted her legions of fans. More than just the definitive collection of Coulterisms, If Democrats Had Any Brains, Theyd Be Republicans includes dozens of brand-new commentaries written by Coulter and hundreds of never-before-published quotations. This is Ann at her best, covering every topic from A to Z. Here you’ll read Coulter’s take on:
• Her politics: “As far as I’m concerned, I’m a middle-of-the-road moderate and the rest of you are crazy.?
• Hillary Clinton: “Hillary wants to be the first woman president, which would also make her the first woman in a Clinton administration to sit behind the desk in the Oval Office instead of under it.?
• The environment: “God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, ‘Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It’s yours.’?
• Religion: “It’s become increasingly difficult to distinguish the pronouncements of the Episcopal Church from the latest Madonna video.?
• Global warming: “The temperature of the planet has increased about one degree Fahrenheit in the last century. So imagine a summer afternoon when it’s 63 degrees and the next thing you know it’s . . . 64 degrees. Ahhhh!!!! Run for your lives, everybody! Women and children first!?
• Gun control: “Mass murderers apparently can’t read, since they are constantly shooting up ‘gun-free zones.’?
• Bill Clinton: “Bill Clinton’s library is the first one to ever feature an Adults Only section.?
• Illegal aliens: “I am the illegal alien of commentary. I will do the jokes that no one else will do.?

If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans is a must-have for anyone who loves (or loves to hate) Ann Coulter.

Show135 Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism by Robert P. Murphy. Audio book disk 1 of 5.

The anti-capitalists are still with us, and how. Robert Murphy has decided to give them an in-your-face economics education that they won’t forget — ever.
His approach comes from years of teaching undergraduates and dealing with the most common errors. He also draws from his teaching experience at the Mises University to offer an Austrian perspective on economics.
He offers explanations and examples that are clear and compelling. Whats wrong with zoning? Murphy explains it. Isnt outsourcing destroying America? On the contrary says Murphy- it is a wonderful for Americans! Shouldnt the rich fork over in the name of social justice? Murphy says that this would make us all poorer.
Isnt the Fed protecting us against depressions and inflations? Precisely the opposite, he says: the Fed is causing economic instability.
In so many ways, this book is a product of the Mises Institute. Murphy learned his economics at the Mises University (while getting his PhD at New York University) and then began to teach at the Mises Institutes programs. He now serves as the headmaster of the Mises Institute online classroom.
This could be the most accessible and compelling introduction to free-market economics since Hazlitts Economics in One Lesson. Certainly economics has rarely been this fun! The socialists and Keynesian of the world will hate this book and make it a target of all their venom. But if they read it, they might learn something.
This book is sure to become a hot seller, and a major source of controversy on campuses. A previous book in this series landed on the New York Times bestseller list. How splendid to think that with this book, the Austrian perspective is receiving yet another boost in public life.
Some topics covered:

Why central planning has never worked and never will

How prices operate in a free market (and why socialist schemes like rent control always backfire)

How labor unions actually hurt workers more than they help them

Why increasing the minimum wage is always a bad idea

Why the free market is the best guard against racism

How capitalism will save the environment — and why socialist countries were the most polluted on earth

Raising taxes: why it is never “responsible

Why no genuine advocate for the downtrodden could endorse the dehumanizing Welfare State

The single biggest myth underlying the publics support for government regulation of business

Antitrust suits: usually filed by firms that lose in free competition

How tariffs and other restrictions “protect privileged workers but make other Americans poorer

The IMF and World Bank: why they dont help poor countries

Why the industrial revolution was the biggest boon for the middle class in human history

Plus: Are you a capitalist pig? Take the quiz and find out!
Breezy, witty, but always clear, precise, and elegantly reasoned, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism is a solid and entertaining guide to free market economics written from the perspective of the Austrian School.
Murphy deploys all his abundant talents here, and to spectacular effect.

Show 129 Dennis Prager talks to Warren Farrell, former board member of NOW and best-selling author. His new book Does Feminism Discriminate against Men?: A Debate. Book description from publisher- Does feminism give a much-needed voice to women in a patriarchal world? Or is the world not really patriarchal? Has feminism begun to level the playing field in a world in which women are more often paid less at work and abused at home? Or are women paid equally for the same work and not abused more at home? Does feminism support equality in education and in the military, or does it discriminate against men by ignoring such issues as male-only draft registration and boys lagging behind in school? The only book of its kind, this volume offers a sharp, lively, and provocative debate on the impact of feminism on men. Warren Farrell—an international best-selling author and leader in both the early women’s and current men’s movements—praises feminism for opening options for women but criticizes it for demonizing men, distorting data, and undervaluing the family. In response, James P. Sterba—an acclaimed philosopher and ardent advocate of feminism—maintains that the feminist movement gives a long-neglected voice to women in a male-dominated world and that men are not an oppressed gender in today’s America. Their wide-ranging debate covers personal issues, from love, sex, dating, and rape to domestic violence, divorce, and child custody. Farrell and Sterba also look through their contrasting lenses at systemic issues, from the school system to the criminal justice system; from the media to the military; and from health care to the workplace. Show 128 Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting David Boze interviews author Frank Minter. Synopsis-

Why the Left’s anti-hunting propaganda is dead wrong

Nothing is more hated-and more misunderstood-by the trendy Left than hunting. But now intrepid hunter and pro-hunting activist Frank Miniter sets the record straight. In The Politically Incorrect Guideâ„¢ to Hunting, he details the concrete benefits that hunting provides to all of us-even how it helps the environment. Speaking with wildlife biologists, hunters, farmers, anti-hunters, and victims of animal attacks, Miniter explains how banning hunting negatively affects wildlife populations and conservation.

Miniter’s fearless, politically incorrect take on hunting lays out the facts that liberal enviro-nuts don’t want you to know, including:

How a well-intentioned policy of “live and let live with Florida alligators resulted in human deaths

Why you’re more likely to be attacked by a bear in an area where hunting is forbidden, such as a national park

Why non-lethal alternatives to hunting don’t work to control animal populations

Why even vegetarians depend on hunting for their dinner (especially those who demand organic or locally grown food)

How hunters are wildlife’s best defenders-far more effective than big-budget “green groups

How deer cause more human deaths each year than sharks, cougars, bears, and alligators combined

Why hunting is statistically safer for kids than football, bicycling, and tennis

If you love hunting, you need to arm yourself with The Politically Incorrect Guide™ to Hunting, so that the next time you encounter an anti-hunter, you’ll be equipped to shoot down politically correct myths and defend this great American sport against all attacks. Biography

Frank Miniter was a senior editor at Outdoor Life magazine and is currently the executive editor of American Hunter magazine. He has hunted on five continents and has won numerous awards for conservation and outdoor writing.

Show 124 The Broken Hearth- Reversing the Moral Collapse of the American Family. Audio book excerpt disk 1.

Bestselling author William Bennett addresses the central social issue of our time—the decline of the family—in a book as intellectually provocative and politically controversial as his landmark The Death of Outrage.

Our recent economic prosperity has masked the devastation of the American family, which is now under siege as never before. From the dramatic rise in illegitimacy, divorce, and single parenthood to the call for the recognition of gay marriages, the traditional nuclear family is being radically challenged and undermined, along with the moral and legal consensus that once supported it.

Now in The Broken Hearth, William Bennett, America’s foremost conservative spokesperson on matters of family values, presents a strong, well-reasoned, and informed defense of the traditional family. Interweaving history, anthropology, law, social science, and the teachings of Western religions, he argues that marriage between a man and a woman and the creation of a permanent, loving, and nurturing environment for children is a great historical achievement, one that should not be lightly abandoned in favor of more “progressive arrangements. Bennett displays his ability to combine fearless conviction, acute insight, and respect for his adversaries in thorough, balanced, and enlightening discussions of single parenthood, cohabitation, gay marriage, and other trends that are undercutting the ideal of the family as the essential foundation of society.

Looking closely at the concerns and questions that divide America, Bennett provides a powerful affirmation of family life and the values and benefits it bestows on individuals and on society as a whole. 76 minuets and 17MB. Purchase audio book from Amazon

Show 123 World War IV Medved interviews author Norman Podhoretz about his new book, World War IV The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism. From the publisher-

For almost half a century—as a magazine editor and as the author of numerous bestselling books and hundreds of articles—Norman Podhoretz has helped drive the central political and intellectual debates in this country. Now, in this beautifully written and powerfully argued book, he takes on the most controversial issue of our time—the war against the global network of terrorists that attacked us on 9/11.

In World War IV, Podhoretz makes the first serious effort to set 9/11 itself, the battles that have followed it in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the war of ideas that it has provoked at home into a broad historical context. Through a brilliant telling of this epic story, Podhoretz shows that the global war against Islamofascism is as vital and necessary as the two world wars and the cold war (“World War III) by which it was preceded. He also lays out a compelling case in defense of the Bush Doctrine, contending that its new military strategy of preemption and its new political strategy of democratization represent the only viable way to fight and win the special kind of war into which we were suddenly plunged.

Different in certain respects though the Islamofascists are from their totalitarian predecessors, this new enemy is equally dedicated to the destruction of the freedoms for which America stands and by which it lives. But it took the blatant aggression of 9/11 to make most Americans realize that war had long since been declared on us and that the time had come to fight back. Past administrations, both Republican and Democratic, had failed to respond with appropriate force to attacks by Muslim terrorists on American citizens in various countries, and even the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 was treated as a criminal act rather than an act of war. All this changed after 9/11, when the whole country rallied around President Bush’s decision to bring the war to the enemy’s home ground in the Middle East.

The successes and the setbacks that have followed are vividly portrayed by Podhoretz, who goes on to argue that, just as in the two great struggles against totalitarianism in the twentieth century, the key to victory in World War IV will be a willingness to endure occasional reverses without losing sight of what we are fighting against, what we are fighting for, and why we have to win.8.5MB and 37 minutes long. Show 122 Dead Certain The Presidency of George W. Bush. Michael Medved interviews author Robert Draper.

From the Publisher- In this ambitious work of political narrative, Robert Draper takes us inside the Bush White House and delivers an intimate portrait of a tumultuous decade and a beleaguered administration. Virtually every page of this book crackles with scenes, anecdotes, and dialogue that will surprise even long- time observers of George W. Bush.

With unprecedented access to all the key figures of this administration—from six one-on-one sessions with the president, to Laura Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleeza Rice, Karl Rove, and perhaps 200 other players, some well-known, some not—Draper has achieved what no other journalist or contemporary historian has done thus far: he has told the story of the Bush White House from the inside, with a special emphasis on how the very personality of this strong-willed president has affected the outcome of events.

Bush loyalists and the growing number of Bush detractors will all find much to savor in this riveting political page-turner. We begin with a revealing lunch at the White House where a testy, hot dog-chomping president finally unburdens himself to the inquisitive reporter, a fellow Texan who well understands the manly argot that courses through this administration.

We revisit the primaries of election-year 2000, in which the character of the candidate and indeed the future of the Republican Party were forged in the scalding South Carolina battle with Senator John McCain. We proceed forward to witness intimately the confusion and the eloquence that followed the September 11 attacks, then the feckless attempts to provide electricity to a darkened Baghdad, the high- and lowlights of the 2004 re-election bid, the startling and fruitless attempt to “spend capital by overhauling the Social Security system, the inept response to Katrina, the downward spiraling and increasingly divisive war in Iraq.

Though the headlines may be familiar, the details, the utterly inside account of how events transpired will come as fresh reportage to even the most devoted followers of mainstream media coverage. In this most press- wary of administrations, Robert Draper has accomplished a small miracle: He has knocked on all on the right doors, and thus become the first author to tell a personality-driven history of the Bush years. In so doing, he allows us to witness in complete granularity the personal force of a president determined to achieve big things, who remained an optimist in the face of a sometimes harsh unpopularity, who confronted the history of his time with what can surely be described as dead certainty. 37 minutes 8.6MB. Show 118 Legacy of Ashes The History of the CIA. Hugh Hewitt interviews author Tim Weiner.  Book Synopsis from the publisher- For the last sixty years, the CIA has managed to maintain a formidable reputation in spite of its terrible record, burying its blunders in top-secret archives. Its mission was to know the world. When it did not succeed, it set out to change the world. Its failures have handed us, in the words of President Eisenhower, “a legacy of ashes.â€?
Now Pulitzer Prize–winning author Tim Weiner offers the first definitive history of the CIA—and everything is on the record. LEGACY OF ASHES is based on more than 50,000 documents, primarily from the archives of the CIA itself, and hundreds of interviews with CIA veterans, including ten Directors of Central Intelligence. It takes the CIA from its creation after World War II, through its battles in the cold war and the war on terror, to its near-collapse after 9/ll.
Tim Weiner’s past work on the CIA and American intelligence was hailed as “impressively reported and “immensely entertaining in The New York Times.
The Wall Street Journal called it “truly extraordinary . . . the best book ever written on a case of espionage. Here is the hidden history of the CIA: why eleven presidents and three generations of CIA officers have been unable to understand the world; why nearly every CIA director has left the agency in worse shape than he found it; and how these failures have profoundly jeopardized our national security. The ACU has no recommendations on this one- your on your own. 15MB 60 minutes. Podcast rating 6 out of 10. To download all of Hugh Hewitts shows visit his website at Hugh Hewitt

Show 117  The Language of God A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief By Francis S. Collins From Simon Schuster publishers- Dr. Francis Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, is one of the world’s leading scientists. He works at the cutting edge of the study of DNA, the code of life. Yet he is also a man of unshakable faith in God and scripture.

Dr. Collins believes that faith in God and faith in science can coexist within a person and be harmonious. In The Language of God he makes his case for God and for science. He has heard every argument against faith from scientists, and he can refute them. He has also heard the needless rejection of scientific truths by some people of faith, and he can counter that, too. He explains his own journey from atheism to faith, and then takes readers for a stunning tour of modern science to show that physics, chemistry, and biology can all fit together with belief in God and the Bible. The Language of God is essential reading for anyone who wonders about the deepest questions of faith: Why are we here? How did we get here? What does life mean?

Show 111  SiCKO movie rebuttal. Socialized Medicine is Sicko By Stuart Browning. Michael Moores new documentary SiCKO unfavorably contrasts the U.S. health care system with government-run systems. According to Moore, the U.S. system leaves millions of Americans behind and allows insurance companies to profit by denying care to cancer patients. But in these three videos, Stuart Browning, a documentary filmmaker and a fellow at the Moving Picture Institute, presents an alternate view of U.S. health care — one that is not as optimistic about the Canadian system that Moore has embraced. See the videos at http://freemarketcure.com/

Video 1 Two Women (2007) Run Time: 4:32  Two Women serves as a cautionary lesson about a politicized health care system where politicians and bureaucrats determine medical priorities.

Video 2 The Lemon (2007) Run Time: 7:46 The Lemon demonstrates how single-payer health care systems have a lot in common with the failed economic systems of Soviet-era eastern Europe.

Video 3 A Short Course in Brain Surgery (2006) Run Time: 5:36 A Short Course in Brain Surgery highlights the plight of an Ontario man with a cancerous brain tumor who crossed the border to the U.S. to get the medical care that is rationed in his home country.

Show 108  33 Questions about American History Yor’re Not Supposed to Ask by Thomas E. Woods Jr.

Revealed- The truths about Americanhistory that liberal academics have buried- because they’re too politically incorrect to discuss.

Leftist textbooks and professors say one thing, and real history says another: in reality, the Indians didn’t save the Pilgrims from starvation by teaching them to grow corn. The “Wild West wasn’t a freewheeling, lawless region - in fact it was more peaceful and a lot safer than most modern cities. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal didn’t lift the United States out of the Great Depression. Foreign aid programs do not help our friends and allies break out of poverty. And the biggest scandal involving Bill Clinton did not have anything to do with an intern in a blue dress and vengeful Republicans.

In fact, probably a great deal of what you were led to believe was true about American history is actually politically motivated myth, served up by Leftists to advance their agenda. The teaching of American history today is riddled with misrepresentations, misunderstandings, and flat-out lies about the people and events that have shaped the nation. But now Thomas E. Woods, Jr., the New York Times bestselling author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History, sets the record straight on key issues where most liberal histories present politically motivated pseudo-history as established fact, in 33 Questions About American History You’re Not Supposed to Ask.

Ranging from the Founding Fathers intentions in framing the Constitution to the real reasons why Bill Clintons presidency was such a disaster, Woods eye-opening tour of American history reveals just how thoroughly liberal historians have whitewashed the historical record, overlooking key events and skewing others beyond recognition in order to advance their political agenda for today. 37 min 8.5 MB

Show 105 Dennis Prager and Michael Medved interview Lee Harris author The Suicide of Reason Radical Islams Threat to the West.  From front book flap- Whether by choice or not, the West finds itself in a low-grade yet bitter war with Islamic fanaticism. It is a war the West is singularly ill-equipped to fight. The foe is resistant to any of the normal methods of resolution such as negotiation, economic sanctions, or conventional armed confrontation. To prevail, we must change our understanding of the conflict. The Suicide of Reason shows how modern liberal societies, whose political theories are born of the Enlightenment, are unfamiliar with the nature of mass fanaticism. The West, so accustomed to thinking of history as an inevitable progress toward enlightenment, can only think of fanaticism as a social pathology, a failure to modernize, rather than as what it is – a variety of social order that is not only fully viable in the modern world but that possesses weapons to which  the West is uniquely vulnerable. A governing philosophy based on reason, tolerance, consensus and deliberation cannot defend itself against a strategy of ruthless violence without being radically transformed- or worse, destroyed.

Extraordinarily original and thought-provoking, The Suicide of Reason explains the logic of fanatical Islam, describes how the Enlightenment overcame fanatical thinking in the West, shows why most Western attempts to address the problem are doomed to fail and offers strategies by which liberal internationalism can defend itself without becoming a mirror of the tribal forces it is trying to defeat. 16.6MB  54 min long. Show 102 The Truth about Muhammed the Worlds Most Intolerant Religion by Robert Spencer audio excerpt from disk 1. To purchase from Amazon click HERE. Great Audio book. A must have in your library.

From Conservative book club- Straight from Muslim sources- the bloody life and violent teachings of Muhammad, the founder of Islam The Truth About Muhammad by Robert Spencer

As American and European leaders continue to assure us that true Islam is peaceful, and formulate foreign and domestic policy on that basis, it is more important today than ever before for non-Muslims to know exactly what Islams founder, Muhammad, actually did and taught. Now, in The Truth About Muhammad  Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion, Robert Spencer provides a frank and accurate picture of the Muhammad that Muslims around the world revere: a warlord who preached violence, ordered the assassinations of his enemies, and used his “divine revelationsâ€? for his personal self-aggrandizement.

Spencer, author of the bestselling Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and four other books on Islam and jihad, here works exclusively from the sources that Muslims themselves revere as most reliable for information about Muhammad. He explains why it matters so much today what Muhammad was like, and traces his tumultuous life in depth: from his first “revelation from Allah (which filled him with terror that he was demon-possessed) to his deathbed (from which he called down curses upon Jews and Christians).

Spencer details Muhammad’s development from a preacher of hellfire and damnation into a military leader who commanded his followers to carry out surprise raids on his opponents, and who promised his warriors luridly physical delights in Paradise if they were killed in his cause. He shows how Muhammad’s faulty knowledge of Judaism and Christianity has influenced Islamic theology, and colored Muslim relations with Jews and Christians to this day. It’s all here: Muhammad’s multiple marriages (including one to a nine-year-old); his convenient “revelations justifying his own licentiousness; his joy in the brutal murders of his enemies; and above all, his clear marching orders to his followers to convert non-Muslims to Islam or force them to live as inferiors under Islamic rule.

Spencer also shows how modern-day jihad terrorists frequently invoke Muhammad’s example to justify their bloodlust and exhort their followers to more violence. The true nature of Islam and the prospects for large-scale Islamic reform have important implications for host of issues - notably the prosecution of the war on terror; the democracy project in Iraq and Afghanistan; and immigration and border control. That’s what makes it crucial for policymakers and every citizen who loves freedom to read and ponder The Truth About Muhammad.

Meet the real Muhammad:

Muhammad’s bizarre reaction to his first “revelation: “I will go to the top of the mountain and throw myself down that I may kill myself

The heretical Christian who convinced Muhammad he was a prophet - and may have taught him his erroneous views of Christianity

Islamic borrowings from Judaism, Christianity, and Zoroastrianism - and Muhammad’s enraged replies to charges that he borrowed material rather than received actual divine revelations

The “revelation that allowed Muhammad to marry his beautiful daughter-in-law

The strange incident in Muhammad’s life that makes it virtually impossible to prove rape in Islamic countries today

The real “Satanic Verses incident (not the Salman Rushdie version): how Muhammad’s attempt to win over his opponents ended with his saying he had been inspired not by God, but by Satan

How the Qurans teaching on warfare against unbelievers developed - with constant war to establish the hegemony of Islamic law as the last stage

The first year of the Muslim calendar: not when Muhammad was born or became a prophet, but when he became a warlord

How Muhammad used the graphic lure of Islamic Paradise to urge his warriors to fight furiously to extend his rule

“Kill every Jew who comes into your power: why Muhammad became so angry with both Jews and Christians - with disastrous consequences that are still playing out in the world today

The momentous command by Muhammad that led to good being identified with anything that benefited the Muslims, and evil with anything that harmed them—without reference to any larger moral standard

Muhammad’s child bride - and the terrible consequences his marriage to a nine-year-old still has in the Islamic world

“This is the caravan of the Quraysh possessing wealth. It is likely that Allah may give it to you as booty: how Muhammad gave divine sanction to the Muslims’ bloody raids

“War is deceit: the permission Muhammad gave his followers to lie in order to gain an advantage over their enemies

How Muhammad broke the principal treaty he entered into, again setting a pattern for Muslim states thereafter

Muhammad’s commands to his followers to wage perpetual war against non-Muslims, including Jews and Christians

Muhammad on women’s rights   women “are prisoners with you having no control of their personsâ€?

“If justice is not to be found with me then where will you find it? Why Muhammad still stands for Muslims as the supreme model for human behavior

“I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula, and will not leave any but Muslims - and other statements by Muhammad that contemporary jihadists take very seriously

Islamic tolerance? The onerous tax burden and other discriminatory regulations mandated for non-Muslims under Islamic law

How Muhammad ordered the killing of apostates from Islam

The massacre of a Jewish tribe by Muhammad that was invoked by modern-day jihadists at the beginning of Israels July 2006 operations against Hizballah in Lebanon

“Embrace Islam, and your lives and property will be safe: Muhammad’s threatening letters to the rulers of the lands around Arabia

Muhammad’s frequent avowals that the Muslims would overcome the empires bordering on Arabia and one day stand as masters of the world

“I have been made victorious with terror - and other statements of Muhammad on his deathbed

Six steps that American leaders can and must take in order to protect our nation from Islamic jihad terrorism

Show 98 The Forgotten Man by Amity Schlaes Audio Book excerpt Disk 1 From ACU- Understanding the Great Depression is vitally important. The very government programs and false assumptions that prolonged America’s suffering are still with us today in large measure. This is the truth that you never got in school. The book is a scholarly work, sometimes dry but builds a mounting case against the idiotic and counterproductive policies of Federal intervention. There is no comprehensive list of FDR’s failed policies and programs but spread throughout the 400 pages an indelible image emerges of heavy-handed bureaucracies restraining and hobbling a free market and a free people. Over all it is a fine historical work and the best I’ve seen on the subject of the Great Depression.  Podcast rating 5 out of 10. 74 min  16MB

Show 97 Dennis Prager and Michael Medved talk to historian Stephen Mansfield.. His new book is Ten Tortured Words: How the Founding Fathers Tried to Protect Religion in America . . . and What’s Happened Since. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. No other sentence has proven more important to America - or has been so dramatically wrenched from its original meaning and context. Today, the first sentence of the First Amendment is used to quash prayer at public events, chisel religious phrases from official buildings, intimidate pastors into keeping silent on political issues, and fire teachers for keeping Bibles on their desks. Now, in Ten Tortured Words: How the Founding Fathers Tried to Protect Religion in America and What’s Happened Since, Stephen Mansfield reveals how the First Amendment to the Constitution written to protect religion from a federal government only has been so manipulated by the Left that its use now contradicts the intention of the Founding Fathers.
Ten Tortured Words combines extensive historical and legal research with interviews of contemporary thinkers and American voices. You’ll learn:

How the First Amendment originally was not understood as a ban on religion in government—in fact, it didn’t even apply to the states

The true context of Thomas Jefferson’s “wall of separation between church and state metaphor - and how its misuse is contrary to Jefferson’s own beliefs

Why Washington, D.C, residents - including several presidents—attended church services in the Capitol for much of the 19th century

How the Everson v. Board of Education ruling refashioned American religious life into a secularist vision - and the KKK affiliation of the Supreme Court Justice who wrote this majority opinion

The ACLU’s bullying techniques, profiteering through Establishment Clause litigation, how Hollywood funds these bogus cases

The emerging “Religious Left,â€? and how religious worldviews will play a prominent role in the 2008 elections 12MB 55min.  podcast rating 6 out of 10. Show 93 Audio interview with David Gelernter author of Americanism The fourth great western religion. Dennis Prager interviews him followed by Michael Medved.

What does it mean to “believeâ€? in America? Why do we always speak of our country as having a mission or purpose that is higher than other nations? Modern liberals have invested a great deal in the notion that America was founded as a secular state, with religion relegated to the private sphere. David Gelernter argues that America is not secular at all, but a powerful religious idea—indeed, a religion in its own right. Gelernter argues that what we have come to call “Americanismâ€? is in fact a secular version of Zionism. Not the Zionism of the ancient Hebrews, but that of the Puritan founders who saw themselves as the new children of Israel, creating a new Jerusalem in a new world. Their faith-based ideals of liberty, equality, and democratic governance had a greater influence on the nation’s founders than the Enlightenment. Gelernter traces the development of the American religion from its roots in the Puritan Zionism of seventeenth-century New England to the idealistic fighting faith it has become, a militant creed dedicated to spreading freedom around the world. The central figures in this process were Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Woodrow Wilson, who presided over the secularization of the American Zionist idea into the form we now know as Americanism. If America is a religion, it is a religion without a god, and it is a global religion. People who believe in America live all over the world. Its adherents have included oppressed and freedom-loving peoples everywhere—from the patriots of the Greek and Hungarian revolutions to the martyred Chinese dissidents of Tiananmen Square. Gelernter also shows that anti-Americanism, particularly the virulent kind that is found today in Europe, is a reaction against this religious conception of America on the part of those who adhere to a rival religion of pacifism and appeasement. A startlingly original argument about the religious meaning of America and why it is loved—and hated—with so much passion at home and abroad. Show 92  Dennis Prager interviews the author of The Forgotten Man  A new history of the Great Depression by Amity Shlaes. From the book jacket- In The Forgotten Man, Amity Shlaes, one of the nation's most respected economic commentators, offers a reinterpretation of the Great Depression. Shlaes also traces the mounting agony of the New Dealers themselves as they discovered their errors. She shows how both Presidents Hoover and Roosevelt failed to understand the prosperity of the 1920s and heaped massive burdens on the country that more than offset the benefit of New Deal programs. The real question about the Depression, she argues, is not whether

Roosevelt ended it with World War II. It is why the Depression lasted so long. From 1929 to 1940, federal intervention helped to make the Depression great - in part by forgetting the men and women who sought to help one another. Show 87  Mao The Unknown Story disk 1 by Jung Chang and Jon Halliday. This podcast covers the early years as a boy and young man.

Breakdown of a BIG Book: 5 Things You'll Learn from Mao: The Unknown Story

1. Mao became a Communist at the age of 27 for purely pragmatic reasons: a job and income from the Russians.
2. Far from organizing the Long March in 1934, Mao was nearly left behind by his colleagues who could not stand him and had tried to oust him several times. The aim of the March was to link up with Russia to get arms. The Reds survived the March because Chiang Kai-shek let them, in a secret horse-trade for his son and heir, whom Stalin was holding hostage in Russia.
3. Mao grew opium on a large scale.
4. After he conquered China, Mao's over-riding goal was to become a superpower and dominate the world: "Control the Earth," as he put it.
5. Mao caused the greatest famine in history by exporting food to Russia to buy nuclear and arms industries: 38 million people were starved and slave-driven to death in 1958-61. Mao knew exactly what was happening, saying: "half of China may well have to die."

Show 80 Michael Medved interviews author of Exposing the real Che Guevara. Podcast rating 7 out of 10. The Author is kind of a nut but it is a good show. For all of Michael Medved’s Shows go to https://www.michaelmedved.com/site $4.95 per month.

Book Description
A critical biography of the iconic communist revolutionary, and an expose of the liberals who lionize him.Nearly four decades after his death, it’s impossible to avoid the image of Ernesto “Che Guevara everywhere from T-shirts to cartoons. Liberals consider Che a revolutionary martyr who gave his life to help the poor of Latin America. Time named him one of the one hundred most influential people of the last century. And a major Hollywood movie is about to lionize him to a new generation.
The reality, as we learn from Cuban exile Humberto Fontova, is that Che wasn’t really a gentle soul and a selfless hero. He was a violent Communist who thought nothing of firing a gun into the stomach of a woman six months pregnant whose only crime was that her family opposed him. And he was a hypocrite who lusted after material luxuries while cultivating his image as a man of the people. Fontova reveals that Che openly talked about his desire to use nuclear weapons against New York City. Such was Che’s bloodthirsty hatred that Fontova considers him the godfather of modern terrorism. Exposing the Real Che Guevara is based on scores of interviews with survivors of Che’s atrocities as well as the American CIA agent who interrogated Che just hours before the Bolivian government executed him.
About the Author
Humberto Fontova, who left Cuba in 1961 at age seven, has written for several conservative magazines and is the author of Fidel: Hollywood’s Favorite Tyrant. He has appeared on many radio and television shows and is active in the Cuban American community.

If you have the time, I recommend watching this great video at: Google video   From the website- Are you green? How many flights have you taken in the last year? Feeling guilty about all those unnecessary car journeys? Well, maybe there's no need to feel bad.  According to a group of scientists brought together by documentary-maker Martin Durkin, if the planet is heating up, it isn't your fault and there's nothing you can do about it. We've almost begun to take it for granted that climate change is a man-made phenomenon. But just as the environmental lobby think they've got our attention, a group of naysayers have emerged to slay the whole premise of global warming.
