About the Program - From the North Carolina Museum of History and a conference entitled: "Castro and Cuba: The Inside Story." Brian Latell discusses the future of Cuba in his book, "After Fidel." Mr. Latell, former Cuba analyst for the CIA, explores the relationship between Fidel Castro and his unquestioned successor, brother Raul Castro. He compares their different approaches to leadership and describes Fidel as a creative genius and director and Raul as a pragmatic producer. This event was part of the Raleigh International Spy Conference.
About the Author - Brian Latell is a senior research associate at the Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies at the University of Miami. He was the National Intelligence Officer for Latin America from 1990 to 1994 and has written about the Fidel Castro since the 1960s.
